Academic Overview
Our K-12 online public school curriculum offers rich and engaging content carefully designed to meet the standards required by the state of Oregon. At Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oregon, students are engaged in academics, participating in various activities and assessments appropriate to the courses being studied, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.

Elementary
The elementary school years prepare students by teaching them vital subjects, such as reading, science, and mathematics. During these formative years, they also develop critical thinking skills, learn to solve problems, understand abstract ideas, and develop time management skills that will help lay the foundation for future success.

Middle School
Middle school is crucial for developing critical thinking and problem-solving strategies. We strive to provide a relevant, engaging, and challenging curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, meets students’ individual needs, and prepares them for high school.

High School
Today’s high school students have grown up in the digital age and use online technology to connect and learn. They respond to an innovative and engaging curriculum. We offer an array of online public school courses for them to choose from, including core subjects, honors & AP classes, and career readiness courses tailored to prepare them for life after high school.
